Cookie Policy
Updated September 2026
This Cookie Policy applies to the website GETC2027.eu and any related digital platforms of the Global Energy Transition Congress ("GETC 2027", "we", "us", "our"), operated by ENZARO TECH, S.L. This Policy is issued in accordance with the EU ePrivacy rules as implemented in Spain through Article 22 of the Law on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (Ley 34/2002, LSSI-CE), and the GDPR, for cookies that involve processing of personal data. Our cookie banner and preference centre are powered by vanilla-cookieconsent, an open-source, self-hosted consent tool. It runs entirely as client-side code served from our own website — no cookie or consent data is sent to, or processed by, any third-party consent-management vendor. Non-essential cookies (analytics and advertising, described in Section 2) are blocked by default and are only activated in your browser after you give consent through the banner; you can review or withdraw that consent at any time as described in Section 6. We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time; the date of the latest revision appears at the top of this page.
1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are sent back to the originating site (or another site that recognises them) on later visits, allowing the site to recognise your device, remember your preferences, understand how the site is used, and — where enabled — make advertising more relevant to you.
2. WHAT TYPE OF COOKIES DO WE USE?
• Strictly necessary cookies. Mostly session cookies, automatically deleted at the end of your browser session, needed for the website to function. These do not require consent. • Analytics cookies. We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors use our website (e.g. pages visited, time on page, errors encountered), so we can improve it. Data is aggregated and used on a pseudonymous basis. These cookies require your consent. • Advertising cookies. We use Google Ads to measure and, where enabled, retarget advertising related to GETC 2027 across the web. We may add further advertising or social-media tools (e.g. Meta or LinkedIn pixels) in the future; this Policy will be updated accordingly before any such tool is activated. These cookies require your consent. A full, current list of cookies in use, including their name, purpose, provider and duration, is available via the "Manage Cookies" preference centre in our cookie banner (see Section 6). 2.1 What data is stored in cookies? Our analytics and advertising cookies store only pseudonymous identifiers. We do not store your name, IP address, or other directly identifying data in the cookie itself. We receive aggregated information about how our pages are used. 2.2 Third-party cookies. Where we use third-party tools (such as GA4 or Google Ads), those providers may also set their own cookies on your device when you visit our site. These are governed by the respective provider's own privacy and cookie policies, which we encourage you to review.
3. LOG FILES
Each visit to our website generates standard server log data (date, time, page requested, IP address, referrer URL, browser version, and data volume transferred). We use this data to maintain, secure and improve our website, detect and fix errors, and protect against attacks (e.g. denial-of-service attacks).
4. WEB ANALYTICS
To understand and improve how our website is used, we use Google Analytics 4 (GA4). You can find more about how Google processes this data at Google's own privacy policy.
5. ADVERTISING AND THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
We use Google Ads to run and measure advertising campaigns for GETC 2027. Depending on your consent choices, this may involve cookies being set by Google to show you relevant advertising on other websites.
6. MANAGING YOUR COOKIE PREFERENCES
6.1 When you first visit our website, our cookie banner (built with vanilla-cookieconsent, an open-source, MIT-licensed, self-hosted consent tool — not a third-party consent-management platform) asks you to accept or reject non-essential cookies, and lets you choose which categories (analytics, advertising) to allow. Strictly necessary cookies are always active, as they do not require consent. 6.2 Because the tool is self-hosted, your consent choice is recorded only in a cookie/local storage entry on our own domain (GETC2027.eu) in your browser — it is not transmitted to or stored by any external consent-management vendor. Non-essential scripts (such as GA4 or Google Ads) remain blocked and do not load until you grant consent to the relevant category. 6.3 You can review or change your choice at any time by clicking "Manage Cookies" in the banner or in the footer of any page, which reopens the preference centre. If we add a new category of cookie or materially change our use of cookies, we will ask for your consent again. 6.4 You can also configure your browser to block or delete cookies directly; note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may affect how the website functions. Guidance for popular browsers is available directly from their providers (Safari, Chrome, Edge, Firefox).
